i am going back to WORK on MONDAY and i can NOT keep doing this (elaborate novembeat recordings) but anyway... today's prompt was "syllabic" so i recorded myself saying a bunch of syllables and made a beat out of them (after applying some effects and filters and pitch shifting the "bass drum" downwards)
i consulted IPA charts and tried to use some weird (for english speakers) phonemes. but it was all taking a while so i cheated a bit on the quantization, used multiple tracks, and also looped a few measures of everything rather than recording straight through. the bpm was rather high and i didn't have the patience for a bunch of takes after recording and tweaking the vox. still not crazy about it, it seems kinda thin. but it's something different!
also it starts with a "syllabus" of the sounds before the beat starts. get it? get it????
