day 2 prompt was "national" which made me think first of a national anthem, then the band the national, then the song "the national anthem" by radiohead.
i started messing around with a distorted bass tone similar(ish) to the one in that song, devised a little two-part and sort of similarly chromatic bass line, then put basically the first drum line i came up with over it. i recorded the bass at 122 bpm and i am not a very good drummer so it was all i could do to keep up with myself.
i'm not back at work yet after my vacation i just took. to keep this manageable when i do go back i'm gonna keep these around this length and just go with my first halfway decent take. no punching in or splicing together multiple takes! at least part of it will be un-quantized! that's the valrus #novembeat promise
