ok... this one might be pretty stupid? i think this one is pretty stupid. but i worked very hard on it AND stayed up past my bedtime so please cherish me.
basically what happened here was for the idea of "polyglot" i wanted to mix together tropes from a bunch of different genres, but then i realized i don't know how to, uh, do a bunch of different genres.
so instead, i did this drum beat that alternates between 6/8 and 4/4 while keeping the hi hat playing constant 6/8 — i actually recorded the drum part in one pass, but just moved the midi notes for the 4/4 parts to a track with a different drum kit, but i didn't cheat on the timing at all — and did some like fake dumb metal over the 4/4 parts and little acoustic folky filigrees over the 6/8. i'm a polyglot? i speak acoustic and electric? i speak 4/4 and 6/8?
like i said, pretty stupid. but fun maybe?
