of course, it being after halloween in the usa, i could not avoid seeing "wreath" and thinking of christmas, and in particular a sleigh bell, but i don't like christmas music and i didn't want to lean into that.
instead i went with more the verb form of "wreath," in the sense of surrounding, enfolding, immersing. that meant washy synths, lots of panning, and satisfying my own "no quantized drums" restriction by simply not having any drums.
